Fastest waySign in at nytimes.com, open your Account, select Subscription Overview, then Cancel your Subscription.

Sign in at nytimes.com and open your Account.
Select Subscription Overview.
In the Manage Subscription section, select Cancel your Subscription.
Follow the instructions to finish. No cancel option? Call or chat with Customer Care (see below).

Paying through Apple? Then Apple bills you. Cancel in Settings → your name → Subscriptions instead.

Billed through The Athletic? Cancel in your account settings for The Athletic instead.
